The Benedict Chapel for Young Adults

The well-known Bible teacher Howard Hendricks once said that “When God measures a man he puts the tape around the heart, not the head.”

Christian education is most often approached from the ‘outside, in’ but The Benedict Academy will approach teaching the Faith from the ‘inside out.’ We will show young adults how to hide God’s Word in their hearts, not just their minds.

High school and college age students are too often shaped by the culture and values of the world instead of the fundamental truths of the Christian faith. At alarming rates, young people are leaving the faith for places where the pastures are not green and the waters are not still.

The Benedict Academy will help students understand the truths of the faith (orthodoxy), seek inner transformation of the heart (orthopathy), so that they might live rightly in this world (orthopraxy).

In addition to surveys of the Old and New Testaments, our classes will revolve around the three things Thomas Aquinas said every Christian should know: The Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, and the 10 Commandments.
